- Jehiel Michal of Zloczov (Maggid of Zloczov)
- (c.1731-86)Galician Hasidic leader. He was born in Brody and served as a preacher there and, later, in Zloczov. He was one of the early propagators of Hasidism in Galicia; he was strongly opposed by the mitnaggedim. Towards the end of his life he settled in Yampol, Podolia. Miraculous tales are told of his asceticism and saintliness.
